Xbox One system update adds storage management, battery monitor

The Xbox One operating system had some peculiar quirks out of the box, and a system update that will propagate on February 11 will fix some of them.

In particular, it will allow users to see how much storage space they’re using on the console’s internal hard drive. It will also introduce a battery indicator for the controller, and compatibility with USB keyboards. Screenshot of the build below:

On March 4 an additional system update will revamp the console’s party system in preparation for the launch of Titanfall later that month.

“This is the first of many announcements and sneak peeks at features in the system updates. We’ve been carefully listening to your feedback and look forward to delivering many new features that will make Xbox One even better,” said Microsoft. “We’re just getting started and can’t wait to share more information in the coming weeks.”

I totally can agree with you on this one. It takes so long to invite people to a party on Xbox One. it is all in a work in progress though. The Xbox 360's first dashboard was terrible, and look where it ended up :)

its going to be a bit before that happens, but they are coming out with a new console with no disk drive that is 100 dollars cheaper.


That was announced fake by Microsoft themselves. ^


yea but the leaker has proof and microsoft is suing them. thus i think at least part of it has to be true other wise microsoft wouldnt care.


He didn't just leak the cheaper console. Microsoft might be suing him for the other info that was released like release dates of games, unannounced games like Forza Horizon 2. Some if it might be false, and some true. I think the Diskless console is fake but some of the other stuff true.


Yeah if none of that was true they really wouldnt care enough to sue the guy that leaked the information
