MLB.TV app coming to PS4, Xbox One this spring

4.5
Major League Baseball's streaming app, MLB.TV, will arrive this spring, coming to PS4 and Xbox One in addition to the myriad of other platforms it calls home plate.

The professional baseball streaming service is now available for purchase at two price tiers: The standard MLB.TV subscription for $109.99 per year and the Premium subscription for $129.99 per year. Though no details on the next-gen console versions of the baseball app have been provided, MLB Advanced Media tells Joystiq the features found on the Xbox 360 (seen above) and PS3 versions are a "good indicator" of what's to come on Xbox One and PS4. The Xbox 360 version included a split-screen mode for baseball fans to watch two games at once.

The Premium tier grants viewers the ability to watch on connected devices like the aforementioned game consoles, so those looking to stream through their PS4 or Xbox One consoles will need to pony up the extra $20. Premium subscriptions also include access to the mobile app, MLB At Bat 14, viewable on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire and Windows Phone 8 devices. Subscriptions for the 2014 baseball season kicks in with spring training game broadcasts, which begin on February 26.

This is going to be a great add, especially for the "sport fanatics."

Can't wait to watch my Sox play and go for another World Series run!

TRSN This is pretty neat. I want to start watching baseball, but I'm not going to cop $130 per year. I'll just stream games or watch them on TV lol.

Yeah this is a ridiculous amount of money to spend to just watch games.

Yeah but it is all 32 of the teams and theres 100+ games. If you're a fan then this is awesome and you would pay the same price if it wasn't going through Xbox or Playstation.

If I was a baseball fan this would be handy. But instead this is something that I will not be downloading.

Looks pretty cool, I won't use it though since I'm not American :p
I don't think I can anyway.

MVPapi Good! I was hoping I could use this on the PS4, just need to find $130 now in the next month, for people that don't undertsand why it's so expensive it's because it covers all 32 teams, including all 162 of their games and you can choose between home and away broadcast, and it includes spring training, the all star events and the playoffs and World Series

I revoke my comment earlier about this not being worth it after reading this. $130 is fair for all the access you get.
