'No plans' for a Halo movie, says Microsoft

4.6
Spartans never die, readers; they're just Missing In Action. Likewise, it seems that rumors of a movie based on the Halo series also will not die. This newest wave of rumors traces back to a since-deleted tweet from Production Weekly which, according to GamesIndustry International, stated, "The Halo project is a live-action feature-length digital produced by Ridley Scott."

It wasn't long before Microsoft put an end to the speculation, however. In a statement to Eurogamer, Microsoft said there were "no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time." This makes sense: getting a Halo movie off the ground has a long and troubled history, and Microsoft has already announced plans to create a Halo-branded television show with the assistance of Steven Spielberg.

Pitching audiences on a television show, a movie and an upcoming game would be a lot of plasma grenades to juggle.

Ice-Coolz I reckon if they did it will be such a good film.

It really depends who makes it and how well they pull it off. A good concept doesn't necessarily lead to a good end product.

i dont think a movie would work anyway

Zoidberg I don't think a Halo movie would work too well, everyone already knows how it goes and what happens. Not to mention it'd be super long if they wanted to explain the whole thing.

That's like saying since people read The Hunger Games book it's pointless to see the movie. Personally I don't like halo but I'd go see the movie :D

Katsumi I'm not too surprised that there is no plans for a movie honestly. It would of been pretty cool though

I think it would make tons of money..

True true, but they will be hardcore fans who want to see it.

Horizex Ever since 343i took started making halo I don't think anyone wanted to see a halo movie made halo is dead and garbage without bungie telling the story.

The real ending to halo was halo 3 and I'm forever sticking with that the reclaimer trilogy is some half **** garbage.

Same, I think Bungie was the only way to go. But oh well, at least Bungie made some great games. Gotta appreciate them.

They went to far with this, they mad enough money and they are overdoing it. I would guarantee that this isn't going to be very successful.

Dolph_Ziggler i dont need a movie of a game

I Would it would be nice to see a new halo movie.

If it was a series and didn't suck, it would be epic. Not really a fan of Halo but I'd watch a Series if it was actually good. They could come out with a great movie... or a very bad one.
