'No plans' for a Halo movie, says Microsoft

4.6
Spartans never die, readers; they're just Missing In Action. Likewise, it seems that rumors of a movie based on the Halo series also will not die. This newest wave of rumors traces back to a since-deleted tweet from Production Weekly which, according to GamesIndustry International, stated, "The Halo project is a live-action feature-length digital produced by Ridley Scott."

It wasn't long before Microsoft put an end to the speculation, however. In a statement to Eurogamer, Microsoft said there were "no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time." This makes sense: getting a Halo movie off the ground has a long and troubled history, and Microsoft has already announced plans to create a Halo-branded television show with the assistance of Steven Spielberg.

Pitching audiences on a television show, a movie and an upcoming game would be a lot of plasma grenades to juggle.

Frighten It would be cool if they made a Halo movie series

It would be epic, it'd have an epic story line without all the BS of playing it lol. Halo makes a brilliant story so a film would be top class.

Good.

I haven't seen the first one and I don't really have any intention on doing so. I've heard from reviews that it's not that great.

Ice-Coolz
VirusMafiia They certainly should not make another "Halo" movie. The first movie was incredible long and not enough action to keep me occupied for those long hours of sitting still. They need to put more action and thrill in the next "Halo" movie if they ever make another one.

It was 80 minutes long that is pretty short for a film.

Actually, the average film length is around that so it is a decent length film. Plus, when did this come out? I have never heard of this...

I didn't really enjoy the movie, like Ice said, it wasn't that action packed.

I believe it came out in 2011, not to sure I just know that it's on Netflix.

-Itachi- they should make a battlefield movie. just my opinion though

Based around the campaign? I doubt it, games with exceptional campaign and movie worthy plots will have a chance, for example Assassin's Creed (there is actually a movie in development) and especially The Last Of Us. TLOU has got more potential to be made in to a movie then any other game, it's just if it does, we better hope it isn't bad.

Battlefield would actually make a decent war film... Just my opinion

Perhaps, but it would just be another movie which makes China or Russia hate us.

I see your point, aha. Very difficult to make a war film that is ethically equal. :o

That would not be anything new i wouldn't pay for another war film :/

I would love to see another halo movie; the first movie was really cool.

10wnu9 I think it would be great as a movie and would honestly make money. Maybe they never saw much in it. Maybe because it would take too long to produce.

It depends how they market it really. It will probably be put in development hell anyway Dx
