Titanfall undergoing 'limited technical test', says Respawn

'Trial' invites are not for a full-blown beta, says developer

Invites sent out for a Titanfall 'trial' are not related to a full beta, insists developer Respawn Entertainment.

The studio appeared to have outed a closed beta when it recently began sending invites a select few players to take part in "an exclusive trial for an upcoming EA title on Microsoft's Xbox One", with a link directing players to a Titanfall website.

In a statement via Twitter, Respawn said, "As some of you are asking, we are doing a limited technical test. It is not a beta, and we don't have any beta news at the moment."

The rep later went on to stipulate that the trial is "small" and "not open to the public". They also stated that players will be forbidden from posting information regarding the trial (although such agreements are often broken as footage and info commonly leak out of closed tests).

It is unclear how many users will be invited to the beta trial, but it is widely suggested that invites are being sent at random to Battlefield 4 players with a registered Origin account.

The Titanfall release date is March 11, according to EA's schedule. The highly anticipated Respawn Entertainment shooter is generally considered as a key asset for Microsoft and its Xbox business. It will ship on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

Auburn I wonder what bugs were in the alpha version. There are a lot of questions I could ask about this game. I'm just really excited.

Alpha always has a shed load of bugs, that's why it's done. But hope they get them sorted soon.

Laze Wait so they released a 'Beta' which isn't actually a full one? Beta's don't tend to be the full version don't they? I wish it could be on xbox 360, although I am determined to get both!

Xbone gives the player the full experience, that's what they intended to do with this.

-Clemson I feel something is going to overtake halo and Cod, all they had to do is mix the two. lol

Only if Halo makes a miraculous comeback with Halo 5, if not then this might just be that game xD

Halo is eventually going to burn out. You can't deny that.

I know it will one day, but they are at least making a last stand to show us they mean business.
