Pro Halo player hired by 343 Industries

4.8
Professional Halo player Eric "GH057ayame" Hewitt, pictured on the right, is now employed at 343 Industries. Over the weekend, Hewitt tweeted an image of a boarding pass showing he was headed for Seattle and changed his Twitter account bio, revealing his new gig.

Hewitt joins former professional players Mason "Neighbor" Cobb and Sean "Dersky" Swidersky, who were both brought on late last year. Hewitt is best known for creating the Team Throwdown competitive playlist in Halo 4 and previously fought for Team Carbon.

343 is currently working on the next Halo game, due to launch this year on Xbox One. At E3, 343 Industries General Manager Bonnie Ross said it would run at 60 frames per second, utilize dedicated servers and benefit from Microsoft's cloud computing infrastructure.

Personally I think this is pretty cool! I'm a huge halo fan been playing forever!! But I mean I don't like the "pro-scene" of Halo to much!

Craigyy Paid to play a game, what a dream job aye?

HIRE ME...

I second that! :)

That'd be the life aha

I Would love to have that job but too bad its hard to get into that kind of job.

It definitely does not pay very well though.

I bet it pays good enough

It will probably just keep dying as the halo community dies

A guy who grew up near me called tsquared taylor used to play halo and was the poster child for mlg. He made around 120k a year in prizes and sponsorships along with a 250k/3yr contract for mlg and in 08 he had his picture on every dr. pepper bottle, so yeah being good at games can profit you some good money and i know some people who took gaming lessons from him which is expensive btw. Although since halo has died down idk how he's doing anymore.

Dorkus His job sounds like a lot of fun
I hope someday I can be a video game designer or tester.

I know it would be so awesome.

-Water That job would be absolutely amazing...

Yes, but then you have to search for flaws and everything bad in the game before you even enjoy it.

47,000 plus expenses of your equipment and internet service. Damn good if you ask me. My neighbor a few houses down is a dev ops system engineer and tester. He comes home every few months for about a week. That means hardly any bills and great pay. Only one thing he said is bad is its not "attractive" to the women. (Strait from his mouth.)

Just like I said, does not pay well at all. It is actually quite horrendous.
