Titanfall multiplayer has a 6v6 limit

Respawn says player cap is based on playtesting, not hardware or network limitations

Titanfall's online multiplayer will support a maximum of twelve players in teams of six versus six.

Responding to a tweet asking what the online game's human player count would be, Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella stated that 6v6 was the maximum, adding that the studio felt this offered the best balance when battling alongside AI characters.

Despite negative responses from some fans following this tweet, Zampella assured players that the 6v6 limitation was a decision made by the development team after substantial playtesting.

"It is incredibly fun, we did a lot of testing," he explained. "It is all about what we found most fun. There are other games with higher player counts if that's your metric."

Stressing that the decision was not based on hardware or network limitations, he added: "We had [the player count] higher at points in testing, this felt best." Zampella went on to clarify: "That's [the] humans only count. There are lots of AI, everyone can have a Titan in follow or guard mode too."

Earlier in the week, a member of Respawn also confirmed on the Titanfall forum that the game would feature multiple controller layouts, including Tactical (which swaps melee and crouch as in Call of Duty) and the Halo-inspired 'Bumper Jumper'.

Publisher EA has confirmed a Titanfall release date of March 11, 2014 in North America and March 13 in Europe. The title will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

Dong Doesn't matter to me. As long as the maps are somewhat smaller and not too big so the game is just boring.

I hope the maps are smaller than ghots maps.

Teh420 Shame it's only 6v6 for a next generate console but never now what might happen when it's released

It'll stay 6v6, the developers have tested it and they deem that 6v6 + AI's will be fast paced, anything more will be too chaotic to be enjoyable.

This will be good as long as the maps aren't that huge, small maps give fast-paced action, this game could be really good.

Yeah but maybe the maps aren't insanely huge

Makes it that much more depressing.

Small maps are kinda good, I don't like exceptionally big maps where it takes you 10 minutes to find someone.

Just give it a chance it might be really good.

That's what i am thinking. Even though it is 6v6 people should at least wait for some gameplay videos, reviews and the lot before deciding not to buy it
