Report: Wii U Outsold Xbox One Last Week

The alleged sales numbers for the week of December 21 have been revealed by VGChartz, and, according to the data, the Wii U outsold Microsoft’s Xbox One console globally last week.

As you can see in the chart below, the Wii U sold 319,860 units world-wide last week while the Xbox One sold only 307,366. Of course, neither systems come close to the numbers of the 3DS which sold 1,078,568 units last week to remain the top selling console in the World.

The news of the Wii U outselling the Xbox One is surprising due to the fact that Microsoft’s console is the newer of the two which has more “hype” at this time of the year. The fact that the Wii U sales are on the upswing can only be good news for a console, and a company, with high hopes for 2014.

I only have plans to get the Wii U after the new Super Smash Bros game comes out. I might get some other games for the Wii U, but I'll see what there is for it after I actually buy one in the future.

Well you got to think, the DS is a considered an older console and with the 3DS out, people are moving up. Japan got the 3DS 1 month before Europe and North America did so people had bought the 3DS at that time and started to stop buying the DS as the newer console is out. Same goes for Europe and North America, people aren't really buying them compared to the 3DS because it's the newer side of the DS and with what's out/coming out on the 3DS, Animal Crossing, Pokemon X/Y and Super Smash Bros(When it does come out) if I were to be buying either a DS or 3DS, I would get the 3DS because of what's out and coming out for it.
