Sony dropping online play for Gran Turismo 5, Resistance trilogy

Gran Turismo 5 and the Resistance franchise will be pulling the online plug in early 2014. Sony has announced that Gran Turismo 5 will conclude its online features on May 20, 2014, with the Resistance franchise on PlayStation 3 following on March 28.

Also, as of January 28, 2014, the online connectivity of MAG, SOCOM: Special Forces and SOCOM: Confrontation will also cease to be. Since MAG and SOCOM: Confrontation are online only, we hope you enjoy your new coasters.

With then changing and adapting to the new generations and next level of gaming i will give these games a chance just to see if at all possible they have changed for the better.

Crazey_Juggalette I followed Gran Turismo on ps, ps2, and ps3... They were before Forza, and i grew up playing GT. I loved the PS version, it was advanced for its time. Over time, they lost touch. Unlike COD they stuck with the same thing, and they have failed. Forza took the lead where GT left off. and now their paying for it. Forza will probably take the lead in the race between the two, and take over if GT doesnt step-it-up.

I personally stopped playing the franchise after Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2. Forza just seemed like a much better game in my eyes

No.. Gran Turismo was actually released much earlier then Forza. Gran Turismo being released in 1997 while Forza was released in 2005

No one ever plays online anyway.

Single player is always better when it comes to racing games.
