Nintendo now selling 'high-capacity' Wii U GamePad battery

4.6
The Wii U GamePad's wireless nature is kind of a figure of speech, what with how often its out-of-the-box battery life requires a charge. Nintendo's high-capacity GamePad battery has jumped shores to offer a solution to the annoyance, as long as you're willing to pay $32 for it.

The product listing states the new battery pack "offers up to 8 hours of use," which it compares to the existing GamePad battery's "3-5 hours." Users will need just a screwdriver to install it before they get back to hosting parties with Super Mario 3D World and discovering nightmare-worthy creatures in Pikmin 3.

Stex Great way to make themselves more money and make gamers battery life last longer, simple and clean idea!

It really comes down to how much it will actually sell though, i personally don't think that it will sell very well

CommanderPig True, how is the Wii U still being sold? It's not even close to the Xbox One or the PS4.

So why is the Vita still being sold? it's nowhere near the 3DS? It's called "choice" There are some great games on the Wii U and more coming soon which is great for people that own one and are planning on it.Don't like it? don't buy it,simple.Although people that own one should really get a discount on the higher capacity battery imo.

Abbotsford Much respect to Nintendo on not giving up on the Wii U. when they get Wii sports out I might purchase it.

Wii U Sports is out to download now, there's Golf which is pretty cool as the controller screen makes it look as if the ball is really on the floor,Tennis and Bowling so far and Baseball and Boxing soon, all have online play which is actually pretty good. You can download them free and try them for 24 hours.

Tao It's about time. The one at my sister's house ran out so fast and it became expensive to use all those batteries

You can't use "batteries" in it as in double A's etc... obviously you don't have a Wii U and BTW the PS4 controller battery probably lasts around the same time.
