PlayStation 4′s launch has had a positive impact on PS Vita sales, according to Sony.

MCV reports that Sony has flagged a 68% in PS Vita sales for the week after PS4 launched, then rising a further 65% the week after that.

In a statement, senior product manager Ben Law said, “PS Vita sales wise we are continuing to see strong week-on-week growth since our latest campaign kicked in. The new TV advert went live this week and we’ve already seen amazing feedback from PS4 owners on the Remote Play feature, and the success of Tearaway highlights what an great proposition PS Vita is, either as a stand-alone device or as the perfect companion to PS4.”

PS Vita has been bigged up by Sony as a companion device for PS4, and has bundled the handheld with Media Molecule’s critically-acclaimed platformer Tearaway.

-TwoChainz I would think that the sales would go down.

Not if it makes the PS4 experience even better. Sony have really done themselves proud with this...

Debris I'm not surprised, Sony is really pushing remote play. The remote play actually works exceptionally well too.

Remote play is great. Yeah, I've got nothing but good results from this so far. The image quality does drop a bit, but I still think stuff like Assassin's Creed looks great. As I mentioned in the review, I couldn't sense any latency around the house. My biggest issue pertains to the controls, to be honest. I find Killzone difficult to play, for example.

Every time I go to Walmart more and more Vita's are gone so it seems true.

I used to think about getting one but thought I'd get bored of it after a while.

Linking the handheld and the console together is a good idea, would be pretty cool. However, I think the VITA is a terrible device, doesn't appeal to me whatsoever.

Most likely cause you can link them together which seems pretty cool to be honest.
