Ouya now $59.99 for a limited time

4.8
If you're itching to join the Ouya revolution but haven't pulled the trigger at the Android microconsole's $99.99 price point, a coupon code issued today drops the unit's price to $59.99 with free shipping, marking its lowest price to date.

Use the coupon code "calamity" after adding the $99 console to your cart at shop.ouya.tv and you'll get a $40 discount on a new Ouya, with free shipping. Note that if you plan to pay using PayPal, you'll first need to log in and reach the store's final confirmation screen before you're given the option to input the code.

The Ouya earned over $8.5 million during its crowdfunding campaign last year, and now hosts a catalog of more than 500 free-to-try games. The discount code commemorates this week's launch of Killing Floor: Calamity, an Ouya-exclusive top-down shooter created by indie developer Tripwire Interactive.

It sounds tragic. No good games as well.

A console can't be measured by the number of AAA titles on it.

I picked one of these up when they were on Kickstarter over a year ago. I had it since Day One and got to see how vastly it improved since then. It started as a clunky, slow console with only a few games, and now it is quite polished with a couple hundred games on it. The Ouya doesn't want to be like the "next gen consoles", and for good reason -- of which I applaud. There's a free trial for every game, from Final Fantasy 3 to other games people made in their garages for 2 hours.

It's a melting pot of a console, though honestly it isn't really a console, just a big Android phone (which is quite nice, since Android is fantastic). I'll never say the Ouya is all it was hyped up as, but it certainly doesn't deserve all the hate. I touch it maybe twice a week, which is more than I can say for next gens (since I'll never buy those loads of garbage, PC Master Race).

I might actually pick one up because of it being the price of a normal video game I can play this when ever I get extremely bored.

I'd feel so sorry for any child who get one of these instead of one of the Next-Gen Consoles!

Disappointing because this console was released this year on June 25,2013.
