Sony bringing the PS4 to India on January 6

4.7
After successfully launching the PS4 in North America, Europe and numerous other markets, Sony has announced it aims to bring its latest console to India on January 6 for Rs. 39,900 – or about $643.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Sony India Managing Director Kenichiro Hibi said the PS4 is expected to beat out first-year PS3 sales in the region. Hibi also said Sony is looking into developing games specifically catering to the Indian market. "Of course we are seeing opportunities and possibilities to develop Indian oriented titles. That might be a possibility. It's in the discussions. It has not materialized yet."

Earlier this month, Sony announced PS4 sales had exceeded 2.1 million worldwide. The company projects it'll sell three million PS4 consoles across the globe before year's end.

Georgasm I don't understand how Microsoft have only landed the Xbox One in 13 countries, Sony seem to have put so much more effort into selling the PS4.

only thing is, sony has less stock but everywhere, ms has much more stock but in limited locations. You can either have a lot in one place or a little everywhere. take your pick! Also ms has the whole voice integration so they need to program for each language/area. which will naturally limit where they sell immediately.

Or they could have waited until their product was actually finished. There would be no rush to program for different languages.

I may have understood it wrong but isn't that why ms only launched in 13 countries. Because they only have it programmed for those 13 and haven't finished the rest?

I'm saying they should have released the console in more nations by now. Should have waited until all major nations were complete, then have a staggered launch.

Wow when is it going to be done releasing in all countries.

You'd think it would have already been released there...

That seems like a LOT of money for a console IMO.
