Battlefield 4 on PS4 gets 600MB patch

4.6
A new game update is currently rolling out for the PlayStation 4 version of Battlefield 4.

The patch was announced on the official Battlefield forum, Battlelog, earlier today.

The update aims to solve many of the client crash and audio drop issues players have been reporting while playing the game.

The full list of patch notes is as follows:

General stability fixes that should remove a large amount of the client crashes we are currently seeing on the PS4
Fixed the audio drop outs that could occur when playing on large maps. Typical map affected was Golmud Railway in Conquest with 64 players. Ambient sound would sometimes cut out, like foley sounds from player running, vehicle engine sounds, vehicle movement sounds, and map ambient sounds
Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks
Further reduced the probability of getting a corrupt save file by doing miscellaneous changes to the save file system. These include removing the save file saving again when quitting multiplayer
Fixed multiple crashes that could occur when bringing up the in-game Battlelog during round transition
Fixed a crash that could occur when using the BattleScreen
Fixed a random crash related to destroying vehicles
Fixed minor destruction issues in the terrain
Players may have to restart the game in order to install the update.

As well as the patch, the forum post also assured that DICE is continuing to work on future updates based on user feedback.

600MB for a patch is pretty big lol

Sorry guys, I did not mean to say 6GB. I meant 600Mb

Wow, 6GB for one patch? That must have TONS of stuff in it then lol

Lye Wow, considering my internet is really bad this would probably take a day to download.

Lag is a big issue amongst many other things, what seems when I'm shooting people it takes to many bullets to kill and when I die it seems to quickly feels like I'm being killed with 1 or 2 bullets. When the game does work its great though.

From I've read and seen, the single biggest issue is the server netcode. Players being shot behind cover, hit boxes not registering, excessive lag and separating squad mates once they enter a game together.

Chicago_Blackhawks I wonder if this fixed the one-hit error for PS4... Xbox One and PC were having the issue also I believe.

Hopefully that glitch has been all patched up for the PS4. It was very irritating to say the least
