Man who purchased Xbox One photo for $730 gets free console

4.6
19-year-old Peter Clatworthy made headlines last week after he purchased a badly printed picture of an Xbox One for more than the actual console is worth.

While Clatworthy has already successfully pursued a refund thanks to PayPal's buyer protection guidelines, the chances of getting a new Xbox One unit before Christmas weren't looking positive for the Nottingham teenager.

Well, for anyone losing sleep over what wil go down in history as The Clatworthy Conundrum, here's some peace of mind: British retailer CeX has given our bumbling hero a free console.

When reached by the Nottingham Post for comment, Clatworthy said he was stunned by the response his predicament has triggered.

"I'm just overwhelmed by the reaction to the story," Clatworthy said. "All I wanted was a refund. I cannot believe this."

What a beautiful ending to a tragic story.

xSTaTiCBLuEx CeX is so **** though. Sells anything for far more than the RRP 2nd hand soon after release. Ok for films though I guess

yeah i worked there, it's because its in high demand so they can make profit off of it, as people are willing to pay more for it. Most of the stuff thats new in is a lot of the time still packaged and unused

Oasis What happened to him buying it for his son? Knew it was a lie.
This scummy idiot deserves nothing, he's probably on benefits.

On the main article on the Nottingham Post it does say that it's for his 4 year old son McKenzie for christmas

He sons name is McKenzie? As in, Mckenzie the clothing brand? FML

Your **** joking, right?

You don't get your 4 year old an Xbox One. You get a 4 year old a damn gameboy or DS. You say it's "for" your 4 year old, when in actuality it is for you.

Well, what nobody seems to notice is the fact that it is very unlikely that he HAS a son. He's 19, with a 4 year old son? Somebody got either pretty lucky, or pretty unlucky at that age.

Ugh, this is so dumb, but I can see why they did it; Microsoft scores for doing this.

I'm pretty sure this person is either a complete idiot or a brilliant genius to come up with a plan to get a Xbone. He knew what he was buying. He just played out all the sympathy cards such as "for my 4 year old son" and how he thought the seller not a scammer because he had 100% feedback and possibly mislabeled the product. Either way, he still doesn't deserve the free Xbone for being an idiot or for being brae enough to follow through a plan like this for attention.

So he misreads an eBay auction, lies about it being for his infant son whose probably 1,2 or 3 years old, gets a full refund and he gets an Xbox One out of it. I hope someone mugs him the w*nker

Shows that there really are some nice, genuine people out there. He got his refund and a new Xbox for free, can't go wrong.
