Xbox One Users Complaining About UI Slowdown

4.4
The Xbox One’s main claim to fame, aside from a ton of about-turns in its key policies, is the new interface which allows you to seamlessly transition from playing games to watching movies and other functions, all within a second. This interface seems to be having problems lately though. A thread on Reddit has reported that lately, the UI tends to slow down after enough time is spent using it.

One user suggested that you should, “Just hold power button for 10 seconds. Xbox One has a memory dump issue that’s been reported.” Some have reported this as ineffective though. Another suggestion was that, “You can also change your power setting to power saving. That way, when you turn off your console, it’s a full shut down; not a hibernating mode you get with the instant on option. Then, when you turn on the console afterwards, the stuttering should be gone.”

It’s not just Reddit users – even media figures on Twitter have reported issues, including The Verge’s deputy managing editor Chris Ziegler.

"my xbox one's UI is basically stop motion animation now. time to relent and do a hard power cycle. is this going to be a regular thing?"

"Once again I have to unplug my Xbox One because the UI was chugging at 1fps. XB1's OS is tiles of hot garbage"

239 "Oh my goodness my xbox is going so slow!" quit griping at least it works and you have one

I can see where you're coming from but I'd rather have a console with no issues, wouldn't you? Guess I'm thankful I haven't noticed anything yet.

I understand why people are mad because they just spent $500 on a console but come one, its obvious there will be some problems with consoles in the first months. Id rather have a slow UI than a over heating issue

New something like this would happen.

Is it over heating or just something more technical ?

I would rather just completely shut down the console compared to leaving it running in a sleep mode.

-CP I have seen nothing wrong at all.

Neither have I to be honest with you.

I have noticed that it takes a long while to open peoples profile page.

Hope they get that fixed.

There's nothing difficult about turning it off completely once in a while. It's something you should do with all electrics.
