European PSN maintenance scheduled for December 9

4.6
Sony Computer Entertainment's European arm will carry out PlayStation Network maintenance on Monday December 9.

The maintenance period will run for eight hours, the company confirmed on Friday via Twitter.

"Heads up > There will be Network maintenance on PSN - Monday 9th/Tuesday & 10th Dec between 16:00 and 00:00 GMT. Thanks for your patience."

If past maintenance periods are anything to go by, online gameplay is expected to be available to users who have recently signed into their PSN account and have their authentication details cached.

Users who do not have their details cached won't be able to sign in to their account or begin an online gaming session.

On Thursday, Sony reset the passwords of multiple PSN accounts for the third time in as many weeks. PlayStation's US arm told affected users that the precautionary measure was taken after it detected "irregular activity" on the network.

Sony said last month that PSN operates in 59 countries and has amassed more than 150 million registered accounts. PSN's global catalogue offers over 222,000 digital content options, including 72,000 pieces of game content.

-CP Sony needs to get it together. Microsoft never has any "service" or problems and Sony does all the time.

They are trying to fix the problems so people will stop complaining.
Now that they are fixing the problem, people are still complaining.

You hit the nail on the head there!
