Wii U system update 4.0.2 released

Nintendo says it improves system stability and enhances the user experience

Nintendo has released Wii U system update 4.0.2.

The company says the update makes "further improvements to overall system stability" while "other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience".

An upcoming 3DS firmware update will allow customers to tie their accounts with the Wii U, meaning that digital currency can be deposited and spent through either system.

Due in December, the software update will allow 3DS users to sign into their Nintendo Network ID via the handheld. If users already have an active Nintendo Network ID on their Wii U, these will combine together.

The update will also bring another long-awaited feature to 3DS in the form of Miiverse. Users will be able to post comments and sketches via their 3DS, with the messages appearing on both handheld and home consoles.

Since Wii U's release in November 2012, dedicated fans have urged Nintendo to fuse the console's online network with the 3DS, much in the way Sony has with PS3 and Vita.

Garrett_Angell Nintendo is a huge fail of a company ... Has been for a while

They are very far from it

The Nintendo DS is the second best selling console of all time with 154 million units sold
The Game Boy is the third best selling console of all time with 154 million units sold
The Nintendo Wii is the fifth best selling console of all time with 100.9 million units sold, selling more than the PS3 and Xbox 360
The Game Boy Advance is the sixth best selling console of all time with 81.51 million units sold

All listed above have sold more than the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Please do your research before making yourself look stupid.

Lavish I'm surprised Nintendo is still sinking money into the WiiU.

they need to accept that they failed and just go back to handhelds thats where they dominated

They are still supporting the 3DS pretty well..

Nintendo is a corporation.
If they weren't making money from these systems they wouldn't fund them.

Pretty much, their primary goal is to make a profit, why would they support a system that wouldn't make them money

Well the Xbox support PS in a sort of weird way.
