PS4 update 1.50 live now at 308 MB, can run off USB drive

PlayStation 4′s day-one update 1.50 has gone live now, allowing users to download it ahead of Friday’s launch and run it off a USB drive. It’ll save all the launch day installation screens.

You can download the PS4 update via PlayStation’s US site now. (http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps4/pc_update/index.htm)

It includes remote play functionality, the ability to broadcasts and spectate gameplay, multi-log-in, party chat functions, as well as screenshot and footage capture.

PS4 is out November 15 in the US and November 29 across the UK and Europe.

It's not 308 MB, it's 859 MB. I'm downloading it now.

Dreams prob shouldnt have done this somethin tells me its gonna backfire on them

I couldn't really see how it will backfire on them, it is pretty helpful on the flip side of things.

KAQ What about jailbreak :0 what if they save the update and then wait for it to update again and then update there ps4 with that update :0 something might happen with this :/

nah they monitor it now. before you update its checked i think they issue console bans also if you tamper with the software. but all in all i really think they should cancel out the USB update all together because it had a lot of hacks.

I don't think they should, I really like the idea of being able to update through a USB Storage device! Yeah, it can cause a lot of hacks, but I think it is a very good idea! And, that they should keep on the PS4, and maybe even add it to the Xbox One. If they haven't already, that is.

Now this is really cool.. i could see many people taking advantage of this to save them a little bit of time when they actually get the console
