New video promotes PlayStation Plus on PS4

4.8
Sony has released a new video promoting the benefits of PlayStation Plus on PS4.

The PlayStation Network subscription plan is more essential on PS4 than it was on PS3 since PS4 owners will need to subscribe to play multiplayer games. Multiplayer on PS3 is free.

Sony has confirmed that PS4 early adopters who subscribe to PlayStation Plus will have access to two Instant Game Collection titles at launch; shooter Resogun and platform puzzler Contrast.

The latter replaces DriveClub, which was previously planned to be a launch-day Instant Game Collection title before being delayed to March.

PlayStation Plus subscriptions cost $49.99/£39.99 a year or $9.99/£5.49 per month. A single subscription is applied to all three platforms; PS4, PS3 and Vita.

Sony has confirmed a PS4 launch date of November 15 in US and November 29 in Europe and Latin America.

The firm has also released a confirmed PS4 launch lineup of 22 titles in North America, and a slightly differing list of 21 games in Europe.

Lia Playstation Plus will be a lot more popular on the PS4 due to the online factor. Hopefully it is a success like xbox live gold is.

Sony has the advantage of making more money now.

Well, right now in the US, PS+ subs are either $9.99 for a 1 month sub, $17.99 for 3 months sub, and $49.99 for 12 months sub. So, those prices are right on par with what there is now, at least for us in the US. So even though the non-year prices are, technically, much higher at $71.96 for a years worth at the 3 month sub price, or $119.88 for a years worth at the month sub price, it's what we have now, so seems right.

VANAGON Will definitely be a upgrade from what it used to be.

It's a small upgrade but nothing too significant in my opinion. PlayStation plus is still great regardless though

YhCHKN Xbox One looks so much crisper, sexier, sleeker!
PlayStation 4 has nothing on the XBONE.

Since watching the Xbox One dashboard video (Watch that on the Xbox News)
I'm glued on the fact Xbox One has so many awesome features! To me, the PS4 is far behind the Xbox One.

Graphically, they're the same. (Pretty much)

Except the fact that PS4 can run games in 1080p and has a larger selection, and higher quality exclusives. Don't bother calling me a fanboy as I'm getting the xbox one first, then PS4 later.

What are you talking about, idiot? Forza 5 is running in 1080p... The xbox one can run games at 1080p. It's up to the dev though.

Titanfall, Halo 5, Froza 5, Dead rising 3, Ryse, etc. I think the xbox one has some great games.

Yet it's incapable of running COD ghosts at 1080p and cod is by no means a difficult game to run.

It is mostly due to Sony making games mandatory 1080p, everyone things Nextgen is just 1080p 60FPS.

MS = Allow developers to pick there resolution. (they learned this from the Xbox 360 launch)

Sony = Doing what MS done at the launch of the 360, dictate what Devs must do. Sony tells them 1080p minimum, even if the game suffers blurry graphics or FPS drops, it doesn't matter. If the rez is 1080p thats all people are look at right now.

If you're wondering MS made it mandatory for Devs to have games at 720p 2xAA, they learned the hard way its not always possible or consumers suffer.

I feel sorry for the Devs that cant hit 1080p on the PS4 since Sony won't be happy.

In my opinion, MS are doing it right, yeah I want larger numbers but I also want a game that looks sexy & has **** loads of stuff happening all over the place, if 1080p doesn't allow that then I don't want it.

First & foremost games are about fun then visuals then nitpicking about **** we can't see.

Ryse even though its just a hack'n'slash it does look damn nice & no one can say otherwise, if they think its doesnt look nice there blind or MS hatin.

Each console will have games that people like & when PS4 games start failing due to daft restriction from Sony, I can see all the fanboys changing their minds or attacking Sony.

That's still not correct, Battlefield 4 on ps4 runs at 900p and in a comparison video maintains a higher frame rate than the Xbox one at 720p. The ps4 is better resolution wise.

You are not correct, the PS4 version runs at 60FPS most of the time just like the Xbox One, if you watch the video again (I suggest you do) you will see the the Xbox in some case outdoes the PS4 & Visa versa. (I know the PS4 version runs at 900p)

Look at it this way MS had to do a U Turn with everything, we know (Fact) there drivers for the hardware were late out the door & not so great, so this could contribute to why some games are 720p vs PS4 900p/1080p, devs had longer & better software (drivers) with the PS4 than the Xbox One, we can clearly see games run at 1080p on both systems, COD ghost ran at 1080p Native but they said it dint hit 60FPS enough for them to keep it at that. But the latter would be in line with what I said about drivers & hardware being late on MS part & the pressure of Activision/EA to get Gold status on the games.

Here is some info we know is 100% fact.

The Xbox is a custom built system, with many things that can't be translated into TFlops, on the other hand the PS4 is off the shelf PC parts.

Yes the PS4 has a higher TFlop count, but then again the Xbox One has 15 custom processors for doing stuff that the PS4 has to do all on its CPU/GPU & the on the Xbox One these are free for the system, what that means is its not using GPU/CPU cycles.

in the end both systems are great in there own right & in a few years no one will care, bar the die hard fanboys.

Arguments like this is why people call people fanboys. Just get over guys, wanna talk about who is superior? Go to PC.

In the end ... both console are basically as good as each other :/ it just depends which you like better to which one you think is better :/

Exactly! It all comes down to personal preference, I don't see why everyone has to say this one is better than this one, because in the end, it doesn't matter. You'll be playing which ever console you prefer. In my case it will be the Xbox One because I've owned the original xbox, the 360 and don't want to switch over now but I don't bash on others who have a different opinion than me.

Amp- PS+ will be good, and definitely an upgrade from the regular Playstation network. But Xbox LIVE will always be better.

Why exactly? I don't see why we should have to pay to watch Youtube etc.. It's all the muppets on XBOX Live that spoil it and i don't see that changing anytime soon. You call backing out of almost every game because they are losing better basically ruining the whole game for everyone else? You call abusive msg's and threats because someone loses a game better?

This is the ad from their launch speech, prior to driveclub and Watchdogs delays. That was a few months ago now. Have they only just launched this separately or is this just floating around the internet?

Yes, PS4s should come with a trial sub (guessing 90 days) which will help.

KAQ I have never really used playstation plus :/ but i may start using it when i get my console :)

It is pretty similar to Xbox Live Gold Membership now that you need it to play games online. It greatly enhances your gaming experience never the less though

It does. One Xbox Live Gold membership covers you on 360, Xbox One, Windows Live games and Windows Phone (if you count it).
