Xbox One Kinect tracks head lean, voice commands in Battlefield 4

4.6
When Battlefield 4 hits the Xbox One, it will bring with it a few new Kinect options that make your own body movements part of the virtual firefight.

Most novel are the device's head-tracking capabilities. According to Polygon, if your Kinect senses your head tilting far enough to the left or right, your in-game character will mirror this action, carefully leaning out of cover to line up a shot (or have his or her fool head blown off). Voice commands are likewise supported, allowing players to call for more ammo, medical assistance or a ride from any characters currently driving a vehicle.

Though the Xbox One (and PS4) iteration of Battlefield 4 launches on November 19, the Xbox One itself won't debut until November 22. Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game are currently available.

Shen Don't really see the use in this lol.

It seems like more of an immersion thing then anything. Being able to actually control parts of the gaming using your own commands etc.

its just one simple thing.. just give it a couple years to expand upon. thats why the xbox one will be the better long term console. it has serious potential to revolutionize gaming.

I agree. If consumers adopt the use of the Kinect and don't just push it away it could play a huge part in future games.

They could add this with call of duty but for all the features :) that would be cool. But i think a lot of people are not going to bother with the kinect :/

I think what turned people off is the paranoid conspiracy nuts that convinced everyone that they would be spied on by the NSA via the Kinect.

KAQ That sounds really good :) they should do this with call of duty but actually like all the moves so if you jump your player jumps :) that would be cool

That would be insanely fun. But it looks like we're a long way from being able to play like this. Maybe not with the new Kinect.

I don't know.
The Kinect does a lot more than what it does while it is hooked up to the Xbone.
If you look at some YouTube videos, the Kinect is far more advanced than people think.

Antonio_Cesaro cant wait for it on the xbox one cause i have it for the current gen and it simply sucks

Dice probably dumped most of their development money into next gen consoles.

This is the next advancement in technology.
The first step to be your character. Actually immersing yourself in the game.

VANAGON Kinda cool but I will always use a controller, not my body.

I agree.
It would be kind of hard to be able to use both controller and preform body movements at the same time.

Absolutely can't wait to get BF4 on my Xbox One!

Although I don't play Battlefield, I think this is a cool feature.
I could see how this could be used in COD Ghost considering there is also a lean feature but I wouldn't use it in the first place.
