Rockstar Claims They Will Fix GTA Economy, But Can't Fix Modded Money

4.7
Rockstar Games has sent out a surprising response to a fan who publicly received the illicitly generated money in GTA Online. Shocking as it may sound, they have no way of removing the money.

This hack was being perpetrated on modded consoles, and the money being brought into legitimate units, with the hackers going Robin Hood, spreading the money around everywhere.

The circumstances that led to this revelation are somewhat outstanding. Some fans put up a GTA Online stream a week ago, and were themselves the recipient of said money. They received a huge sum of money which in terms of microtransactions would have cost them a real life amount of $ 20,000. In this case, of course, they had to bring it up with Rockstar.

In Rockstar’s words, they are not able to remove the money from the player’s game. In case they get a ban or penalty, they should contact Rockstar again.

What makes this response extra shocking is that they made a public statement that indicated otherwise. On their official site, they claimed that they continued to balance the dynamic in-game economy and that they were working to adjust or close any exploits to get more cash. Rockstar also made it explicit that they were tracking down player data, as well as direct feedback, so that players can make sure everything in the game is done fairly and on the level.

ZENU96 I just wish they can do something about these modders.

So, your on a modding website that you paid money to. This said site was also made famous because of its modding. So you want something to be done about modders. Logic.

It's not a modding website it's a gaming community.

Who cares if it's a modding website? Logic is also that this site isnt ONLY modding. Only modding topic is Xbox/Playstation and the Modded lobbies on MW2. So this website IS NOT a modding website. It supports modding, But isn't. Is that enough logic for you?

cooperhirst Lol I am one of those "game ruining hackers" ;) I don't have the game on disk anyway so I will only be able to ruin the economy when my jtag is online. HATE AT IT.

GTA V, one of the biggest entertainment releases. GTA Online, probably the biggest multiplayer failure. I like how it works in GTA IV. Money is basically EXP that makes you level. If people got lobbies, all leveling up brought them was clothes. Instead of trying to make an RPG, they should've left online with what it was like before but with all of those crazy new features. Rockstar definitely messed up. I hope it'll be fixed before the PC release! Haha!
