Rockstar dev working on "next version of famous IP"

4.7
The eagle-eyes behind AllGamesBeta have spied a listing on the LinkedIn profile of Rockstar New England employee Doron Feinstein, which mentions the "next version of a famous IP", in development since at least September 2010. Could John or Jack Marston be getting ready to ride again?

One small and decidedly vague sentence isn't much to go on, granted, but when it's combined with various other bits and bobs gleaned over the last year or more, it certainly begins to look like a Red Dead Redemption sequel isn't a case of if, but of when.

First off, Rockstar began hiring for a next generation console project way back at the start of 2012, long before the Xbox One had been revealed and way before we really had any clear picture on the size and scope of GTA V.
Then, in July last year, Rockstar told fans to "stay tuned" for further announcements regarding the future of the Red Dead franchise during a Q&A on its NewsWire, suggesting it definitely had some things to say regarding a potential sequel.

Finally, just a few weeks ago, Rockstar's Dan Houser told the Guardian that the studio was "of course" interested in next gen platforms. "We don't have another GTA in development, he said, "We don't work on three of these games at a time. That would be phenomenally depressing."

So, if the developer's next gen hiring wasn't for GTA, what was it for? If we're to stay tuned for Red Dead news, what could it be? If the studio is working on a famous IP that isn't GTA, what is it? It's got to be a new Red Dead title

RDR received some insane hype and was an amazing game. GTA V has it's performance flaws on the current gen and gameplay did get stale. I'm a GTA guy, but RDR, man, that didn't get old for a couple years. What I'd love to see now is Rockstar actually bringing the next RD game to PC. An amazing game mixed with the capabilities of PC gaming, come on. Expecting this suspected game to drop in a couple of years.

YhCHKN RDR is an amazing game.
Even Read Dead Revolver on PS2 was sick!
Although I'm not sure RDR could progress further as a franchise!

They could do a prologue to RDR. It would be John rolling with his old crew. I think that would be pretty cool.

That would be so good!
Or it could be like the Assassins Creed 3 where you play as him as a kid, then you grow up and see how he got into his old Posse!

xSTaTiCBLuEx Well we can only expect a pretty bad game after the pretty much failure that is GTA V

GTAV a failure? what are you talking about?

is he or she drunk? sure the online didnt have a great launch but after they fixed the issues the online gameplay was great. But if we go to the story line, it is priceless and in worth more than a $60 game. Its obviously going to get the Game Of The Year award and youll feel dumb for saying that statement.

it will only get game of the year because that doesnt take into account the online play. no other game actually focuses towards offline play. thats the past. and it kinda seems like every game gets "game of the year" status. just like every movie gets the "#1 movie in america" status. its all a joke

Honestly, I think most games, that get "Game of the Year" award, doesn't even deserve it! But, I think GTA V does!

The Online was a failure but that was due to the bugs and glitches, which they are now trying to fix.
