Xbox One to receive ongoing performance enhancements over cloud

4.6
Xbox One will receive ongoing performance-enhancing updates over the cloud, Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Harrison has stated.

Speaking with MCV, Harrison said, “The way in which you keep the market fresh is keep the technology fresh and keep the development ecosystem growing so that new and exciting experiences are coming out. And with Xbox One using the power of cloud we can add features, we can add functionality, we can have performance increases over time. I think that will keep the platform very fresh over a long period of time.”

On the nature of the cloud and digital content, Harrison continued, “On a macro-global scale, the world is clearly moving in a digital direction. It is, I think, an unstoppable, inexorable momentum. We are going to see the world be truly digital. But with Xbox One we quite correctly give people choice. They can consume and play games on disc, and get all the benefits of that. Or they can consume games digitally. Remember our games will launch day-and-date on both digital and physical, so it’s up to the user to choose which medium they want and have the benefits of either method.”

Cloud for Xbox 360 is the best. But hopefully they will improve it

TywinPosted:

This is to be expected. I bet there will be less patches which means less breaks to be had during gaming sessions.

CHP i hope they stick reallY close for a long time jsut in case they have any issues, but im sure they will.

They will, they stuck close with the 360 for a good time.

Konviicted For people who say PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox One, I am almost positive the PS4 doesn't have even close to the capabilities the Xbox One has when it comes to Cloud. For every Xbox One, there is virtually 2-3 servers for power and performance enhancements. Keep talkin' trash Sony fanboys, we will see which one makes more money ;) oh and don't say "Oh the PS4 will sell more." It is a possibility, but ONLY because it is $100 cheaper and it's launching in more regions. If you're going to reply, please state which part of my comment isn't true

I will quote you and point out something. You said "I am almost positive the PS4 doesn't have even close to the capabilities the Xbox One has when it comes to Cloud." That is an opinion not a fact not much light has been shed on Sony's cloud servers they may have none they may have 500,000 there is no confirmed amount. Sony may be launching in more regions so it is more than likely going to sell more than the Xbox One and so what if it is $100 cheaper so by saying Sony fanboys chatting trash make sure you make valid points with facts before pointing the fingers trying to start flamewars.

Just look at the pre orders numbers and shut the f*ck up. We already see the winner. Dumb Xbot.

woah pashtun. just because the PS4 has more "preorders" DOES NOT mean at all its better or worse. His whole comment is true and pretty **** accurate. finally a kid who actually know what hes talking about.

TheOnlyDeagle For all the people who are saying "I don't use Cloud and I never will" you're really missing out. It really is simple and it doesn't really madder because you will be forced to use it, whether you choose PS4 or Xbox One.

I just never used cloud because I have a 250gb hard drive, with like 210gb of space left on it.
The PS4 won't have the cloud much/at all
