Xbox One will record Achievement-unlock moments, says Xbox rep

Automatic DVR recordings tied to Achievements

The Xbox One will automatically record a clip of gameplay footage when players unlock Achievements.

That's according to an Xbox rep at the EB Expo in Australia, who described the feature to YouTuber ChampChong.

"The DVR will automatically record any Achievements that take place so whenever you unlock a Gamerscore it will automatically record how you did that so you can check it out later," said the rep.

This is apparently in addition to machine constantly recording the past five minutes of gameplay footage, which Microsoft has previously detailed.

Users will be able to review, crop and upload gameplay footage using an app in the Xbox One operating system.

The integration of Twitch into Xbox One will also enable Xbox Live Gold members to broadcast games directly to their Twitch channels, as well as view content from other streamers on Twitch.

PS4 owners will also be able to share gameplay and screenshots using the DualShock 4's 'Share' button. Neil Brown, head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's R&D group, revealed that PS4 uses a dedicated hardware encoder to continually record the last "several minutes" of gameplay footage, without taking up any processor resources.

This will be great for those that make achievement guides.

R2-D2 Yep, I can see it now...download a "gamesave" and see all those achievements starts popping up continuously and being recorded....Turn off the power quick!

That still wouldn't do anything. Once one achievement pops from a gamesave they're all there even if you don't see them pop. Unless you do an achievement specific.

But it's still kind of sketchy when you see the "23 achievements unlocked for 800 gamerscore"
Lol

Well if that all popped at once yes, but there are gamesaves for like 1 achievement and they still couldnt tell.

Well, I figured this would happen. If it didn't, I mean it would be a real shocker to me!

Chloe_xD Not many people will use it but that is not good news for modders/boosters x

I think that is the main reason they made this feature tbh
