Apple sold 9 million iPhones over the weekend

Apple sold 9 million iPhones during the first weekend of availability. This massive sale should calm the whispers that consumers are falling out of love with Apple in favor of other mobile giants such as Samsung.

There were long lines at many Apple locations around the world filled with eager individuals who wanted to be among the first to try out Apple’s new iPhone 5s and 5c. While many thought that Apple may have intentionally not allowed 5s pre-orders to build longer lines, it does look like they genuinely were in short supplies of the devices.

The 9 million in sales is a new record for Apple, which will certainly help boost their stock price when the market opens later today. Apple also announced that over 200 million devices are now running iOS 7, which is a huge achievement for the company and developers too.

Apple’s new iPhone 5s and 5c comes with iOS 7, which has been receiving mostly positive reviews, but not everyone seems to be pleased. The new flat look and updated UX is a bit of a change over iOS 6 and time will tell if iOS 7 is the best path forward for Apple.

Everytime Apple makes an iPhone every single teen on the world wants it, it's insanity.


That is exactly right, every year after w/e iphone they release has been out for a while everyone is like "apple is dead" and all that and then the next one comes out and breaks more records


Well the apple 5s is the fastest smartphone out (64bit) and has a finger print scanner, so it's pretty awesome

I'm thinking it's the iPhone 5 models. Iphone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. I could be wrong but that's just what I'm thinking.

DLT I read somewhere that they where selling 34 handsets a second. I guess the demand really was incredible.


But over the span of how long? cause that seems kind of ridiculous.

Wow 34 every second that is impressive but to be honest it was expected, I don't see the big deal with iPhone's they change very little things and expect like $1000 for a new phone its scandalous but there's not much we can do.


Dont change much? Are you dumb or ignorant? They may not have huge differences in the way they look, but if they 'didnt change' then the new phones wouldnt be able to run most the apps smoothly for lack of processing power, they are forever upgrading software and processing speeds, which is far better than upgrading how it looks too much, besides what more do you want a MOBILE TELEPHONE to do? Its not exactly going to make you dinner?


I don't think its him who is "dumb" if you think it changes much. Sarcasm at the end I love it, but not many people want anything to make dinner for them thats just you wishful thinking. Tut tut laziness.
