Apple: New iPhone demand is 'incredible'

The iPhone 5s went on sale today, as did the iPhone 5c, though pre-orders had been available for a week. Stopping short of releasing any concrete sales numbers, Apple did say that demand so far has been pretty good. Apple usually doesn't announce numbers until after launch weekend.

“Demand for the new iPhones has been incredible, and we are currently sold out or have limited supply of certain iPhone 5s models in some stores,” an Apple representative told AllThingsD.

Indeed, it didn't take too long for Apple to sell out of the new iPhone model on launch day. All models of the space gray (black) and silver (white) iPhones have shipping dates pushed back 7 to 10 days, while all models of the gold iPhone won't ship until October. Every color and model of the iPhone 5c won't ship for one to three business days either, but that's not too much of a delay. Typically, products that are fully in stock will ship from Apple within 24 hours.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also made an appearance at the at the Apple retail store in Palo Alto, Calif., where he shook hands and talked with some customers. As one might expect, the line stretched as far as the eye can see this morning.

Actually studies show those who are arrogant and ignorant, are those who purchase iPhones. They tend to show off their phones the moment they buy it.

What a stupid thing to claim; If you can link to one of those studies I'll give you gold on this site.

Oh really? If you were smart enough you would realize that I already have gold and in order to give gold you must obtain it yourself. Also I did my own studies. I surveyed a total of 326 people and about 73% of them had iPhones (the rest had either a S3, Nexus 4, or HTC One. This is do to the fact that I only would ask people with the best phones on the market), and about 77% of them showed off their phones. From those 77% there was 83% with iPhones. Of course this is not very "accurate" because there is more than 326 people in the world. Not everything on the internet is true so I do not need to link you. A link doesn't mean anything.

That's because it's a new color for people. I want the black one because I like how it looks on the iPhone 5 so once they restock where I'm at, I'm getting the black iPhone 5S.

Studies show that nobody cares. All I see is people who have iphones are happy and no need to show off because the people who don't have them are like "Wow you have a iphone, what version? they are so cool." Or they are like "ahh who needs a Iphone they are a waste of money." But in reality they want the iphone just can't get it.

Actually studies show that almost everybody, doesn't matter what phone, tends to show off their new phone that they just bought. I've only had one phone that wasn't an iphone and I showed it off. Even if I bought the new galaxy I would show it off. But the fact is some people care and think its cool, while others really could care less.
