Grand Theft Auto 5 sales surpass $1 billion

Take-Two Interactive announced today that based on internal estimates it believes Grand Theft Auto 5 sales have surpassed $1 billion during its first three days at retail. According to the company, the game is the fastest product to achieve that milestone.

If the estimates by the Rockstar Games' parent company are correct, it will have beaten the already ridiculous achievement by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year, which hit the billion milestone in 15 days.

Take-Two announced on Wednesday that Grand Theft Auto 5 had sales of $800 million in its first 24 hours (compared to CoD: Black Ops 2's $500 million).

Also, we're just using Call of Duty here for comparative purposes. Don't you worry. Call of Duty: Ghosts is still going to do plenty fine, with GameStop recently noting it as the "most pre-ordered" game of the year.

they should improved more on story than grahics


The story was good. 3 different characters to play as and they all tied together.


I agree I think the story was long enough I just completed the story mode last night and I only have side missions to do but heck, I am looking forward to the Multiplayer not long to go now 9 days :).


I'm 16 missions away from completing the game, but I'm already looking forward to the Multiplayer!


GTA VI should focus on multiple maps in the single player. So we can fly to Liberty Cities, etc...

Also, make the story line more custom. SO you create a player, etc...

I agree don;t get me wrong they have changed quite a bit but overall it will be the same thing except with a bit better graphics and dynamic maps lol.

I agree with you theres going to be a hard choice at the Game Of The Year awards this year but I think GTAV will come out on top.

I think the storyline is great on GTA V. Lots of side missions, love the way you have 3 sides to the story - Makes the game very appealing for many different age groups etc.


I agree, I am enjoying this game so much, I love the missions and I didn't get bored for a second yet.

Gigahertz It's easy to see why they made so much money so quick. GTA is a brilliant game series and GTA V is arguably the best yet!


Yeah either that or Lasy of Us.


The game is so much fun, but someone of the missions I find pointless, such as the yoga mission. It is still an amazing game though.

I never got to play the Last of Us because I don't own a ps3 but I've seen plenty of gameplay on it, it looks amazing and the storyline is one of a kind.
