Battlefield won't give up until it's 'number one'

4.6
Ahead of the game's October 29 launch, EA Games executive VP Patrick Soderlund recently talked up Battlefield 4, discussing the series' competition with Activision's Call of Duty.

"Competition is good. It brings the best out of people. If there was only Battlefield or only Call of Duty, then the development teams might have been a little bit more content," Soderlund told MCV. He added that the developer doesn't mimic Activision's efforts on the Call of Duty series.

"Maybe they weren't thinking about us much when we made Battlefield 3, but I can tell you, they are thinking about us now. They need to," Soderlund said. "We made a dent in the FPS market and we took share from them. And I am not going to give up until I'm No.1 and I am going to make sure I'm No.1."

Bf4 is number 1 in fps wise

Battlefield will always be Number one in my opinion. Call of Duty is the same thing every year, but they get the brainwashed 8 year olds to buy their games every year. Battlefield tries every year to make it better than it already is. I think the skyscraper map will become the most amazing thing to ever happen in Video game history.

I honestly think battlefield could get ahead in Call Of duty since I find COD series has slowed down a lot and it's almost like they are changing a couple things and releasing repeat games.

Battlefield seems to still be improving there games and adding tons of new crazy idea's that gamers will love.

I believe the Battlefield franchise deserves the #1 spot 100%

To all of the people talking about GTA5. Of course GTA5 is a great game, but it is an entirely different genre. Soderlund meant they want to be the #1 FPS(First Person Shooter.)

It will be hard for Battlefield to take the helm from Call of Duty, as CoD has always had a massive following and BF ,honestly, just became a real contender with BF3. I am no fanboy for either side. I play and thoroughly enjoy both games. I have both CoD:Ghosts and BF4 pre-ordered for the Xbox One. Either way, I do hope CoD starts viewing BF as a threat. Only because friendly competition between the two will equate to more innovative features for us gamers as the two giant battle for our $60.

This will be tough seeing as CoD is already the #1 series and GTA V is selling a ton, is extremely popular, and is IMO an amazing game. But I do think Dice has what it takes. If you haven't seen the trailers for this game, go watch them now! At least the multiplayer ones
