Xbox One will support eight controllers at once, up from the four that can be used with the Xbox 360.

According to details published on the official Xbox One product page, the new controllers will also have a 30 foot wireless range.

Sony has yet to confirm how many DualShock controllers can be connected to the PlayStation 4 at once. The PS3 currently supports seven controllers, even though no games support seven player local multiplayer.

A PepsiCo promo earlier this week hinted that an Xbox One release date will fall in late November, though Microsoft has already confirmed the console will not release in several European countries until 2014.

Sony has confirmed a November 15 release date for its PS4 in the US, while Europe and Australia will see the console release on November 29.

It's not about how big your tv is... It's about the resolution of your TV and the game, this would be great on 4K games but I don't see that happening

even on a 55" tv it would be silly! I have a 52", playing 4player on that is god damn awful! and to imagine 8 on that screen would be crazy!

PLUS Aren't the controllers $60 each? 8 x $60 = $460...?! Microsoft *Facepalm* Unless they are adding the ability to add multiple monitors/displays to one console I really don't see the point!

I don't really see the point. I can only see this being useful for party games that only use one screen. I have very few friends that I hang out with, so that is a slight issue as well, lol. Most likely would have never used it anyway.

I couldn't see me having that many people over my house at one time. I struggle with 2 player multiplayer on the same console. the 30 foot wireless range is pretty epic though
