Nintendo has 'no plans' for Wii U Ambassador program

Nintendo has said there are "no plans" to implement a 3DS-esque Ambassador program on the Wii U, according to a statement made to Wii U Daily. Nintendo recently announced a $50 price change on the Wii U deluxe bundle, which made Wii U Daily question if the company might offer an Ambassador program, as they did when the 3DS dropped from $250 to $170.

According to a Nintendo rep, however, the Ambassador program is "only available to any Nintendo 3DS owner who purchased their system before August 12, 2011 and there are no plans for a similar program for Wii U." The representative also apologized, stating that, "I know this isn't what you were hoping for."

Oh well, at least there's that snazzy-looking The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle coming soon!

Why have Wii U ambassadors?

Well some people like Nintendo still so they're making money from that. But I do agree, once Xbox One and PS4 come out, I think Nintendo is going to have an even harder time than they're already having with the Wii U.

I still think the Wii is a great console now the WiiU on the other hand I do dislike and I have owned one before so I know, I wish Nintendo would come up with something better other than sticking to a console that obviously people do not want.

I doubt that many people would even bother with an ambassador program for the Wii U anyway, so there really wouldn't be the need.

I have never even heard of the Ambassador program for the 3DS but from what I heard about it I think that it was costing Nintendo a lot of money for not that many results or benefits for them. I really hope they pull out of this spiral them seem to be going down in.

Not too many, hence why they have no plans for an ambassador program


That was a given, they should just do like a recall on the system


I have owned the console since day one and only played it like a max of 5 times, the console lacks a lot of fun things and kind of sucks to be honest. It is a little disappointing.


I play it once and didn't even have fun, I think I played for around 30 minutes and I was bored as hell.

Lol did you actually purchase it light year? Or play someone else's?
