Titanfall will not have microtransactions, says Respawn

4.5
Microtransactions have run amok at gamescom, but here’s some good news, as Titanfall developers Respawn have stated quite categorically that that business model just isn’t for them.

Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe spoke to VideoGamer and had a simple answer to the microtransaction question: “That’s not us.”

At the moment the team is focusing on getting the game out before considering where they might take it in the future. Although it seems likely, there aren’t any plans in place just yet to turn Titanfall into a franchise.

Heppe also didn’t rule out the possibility of additional content later in the game’s lifespan, but maintained that these will not be delivered through microtransactions.

This is good news. During gamescom it’s been announced that Battlefield 4, Ryse: Son of Rome, The Elder Scrolls Online, and many other games will include microtransactions.

Titanfall launches on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC next Spring.

Human Looks better than Cod.

truu and If this means no dlcs then that sucks.

It doesn't mean no dlc's. A microtransaction is where you can use real world money, or money earned in game to advance in a particular class quicker, or to unlock weapons/armor quicker.

99pennies so does that mean no dlc?

No it means no little upgrades for a few bucks as are common in mobile games, such as the camos on blops. New maps and stuff like that that costs 10-15 bucks will still come out

Pashtun I think I see a major flaw in this game. If you are not in the robot, you get killed too easily?

Movement speed is very high plus you can destroy/steal Titans. So as long as you're smart you'll be able to out run them.

Think of it like an elephant and a mouse.
