Xbox One: Still 'no plans' to release without Kinect, says Hryb

Microsoft still has "no plans" to release Xbox One without Kinect bundled with the console, Xbox Live's director of programming Larry Hryb has told fans.

The statement arrived via a Reddit Q&A, in which Hryb responded to a question concerning a potential non-Kinect Xbox One bundle, stating: "We have no plans for that. We are 100% all in on Kinect."

Hryb's comments arrive following confirmation this week that Xbox One consoles will no longer require a Kinect sensor to be connected in order to operate, despite earlier plans to make Kinect a mandatory requirement for the new Xbox.

In May Microsoft responded to widespread fears over privacy by confirming the ability to turn Kinect 'completely off' . The firm later assured soon-to-be Xbox One owners that it had 'prioritized your privacy' with the device.

The Kinect backtrack is the latest in a number of high profile policy reversals from Microsoft's Xbox One team, most notable of which was the decision to ditch plans for the console to require an internet connection

Xbox One will be available in 21 markets this November. The Xbox One price has been set at £425 / €499 / $499.

This news is useless. I sorry but what is the point of posting this when we already know from the first time they said there will be no Xbox release without the kinect. To be honest the kinect doesn't really phase me I think it's pretty cool, well I guess that's just me.
