HTC announces HTC One Mini with 4.3-inch screen and dual-core CPU

HTC has announced their brand new, long-awaited, HTC One mini smartphone. This new device is a slimmed down, miniature version of the company’s flagship Android device, the HTC One.

Many folks have been expecting the mini, with a number of notable leaks taking place during the past months. The company even teased the device themselves, yesterday.

The HTC One Mini features many of the same technologies found on its higher-end counterpart, such as the Ultrapixel camera, the high-quality speakers which the company has dubbed BoomSound and the very polished aluminium body. However, the mini is a smaller version of the original, sporting a 720p 4.3” and a 1,4 Ghz Dual-Core Snapdragon 400. If you want the complete spec sheet check our Spec Shootout between the Mini and the original HTC One and see how they compare.

The One Mini also comes with the latest version of Android and HTC Sense, bringing the same software features that can be found on the One, including Blinkfeed and HTC Zoe for capturing short Vine-like movies. Peter Chou, HTC’s CEO said:

The HTC One mini embodies everything that makes the HTC One a success on a smaller but equally eye-catching scale.

The company has been struggling to make it in the very competitive smartphone market and the HTC One has proven to be quite popular. With the launch of the One Mini HTC hopes to regain some of its lost marketshare in the mid-range spectrum of the market.

The phone will hit select markets starting in August with general availability in September. There’s no word on price just yet but this device is a mid-range phone so expect mid-range prices.

daw Never had a HTC was wondering about getting one. But from the comments I guess they suck ?

I have HTC Evo 4GLTE, no problems with it, htc one is probably the best phone right now, next to galaxy s4.

S4 Is too big in my opinion.

If you are thinking about getting an HTC. You might want to look at other phones.

Ive got an htc one x now. I honestly cant see my self owning another brand(except the gs 4 active. it can go in water lol).

Ive had an iphone and a droid x. Really they dont even compare imo. The only thing I hate about these phones is the inability to take out the battery. I seriously want to slap the guy who had that idea.

The first smart phone I ever had was a HTC phone. It eventually crapped out on me though.

But before it did it was really good phone.

I picked up the HTC One at Best buy and from what I saw it seemed like a really fast and well built phone. But, I am a apple fanboy. Gotta stick with my iPhone!
