FIFA 14 UK cover star is Gareth Bale

4.7
EA has revealed two-time PFA player of the year Gareth Bale as the UK cover star for FIFA 14.

The Spurs attacker will be joined by reigning FIFA world player of the year Lionel Messi on the game's packaging.

EA has confirmed a FIFA 14 release date of September 24 in North America and September 27 throughout Europe on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Xbox One and PS4 versions will be released at a later date.

The publisher's next-gen sports titles like FIFA, Madden, NBA and UFC will be powered by Ignite, a new engine the publisher claims will "blur the line between real and virtual".

In a recent FIFA 14 interview, we chatted to producer Kantcho Doskov about the 'completely new systems' that will be ushered in with this year's instalment.

We said in a FIFA 14 preview published in June: "The two most effective changes in FIFA 14 also happen to be the two most crucial to football: moving and shooting. While things are no doubt being saved for next year, we've still got plenty of reason to be excited about what the team have got planned for the new season."
