Amazon sells out of PS4, Xbox One launch day stock

Amazon and Best Buy are the latest retailers to tell consumers they've run out of their initial PS4 and/or Xbox One allocations.

Earlier this week, GameStop said it's currently not accepting any more PS4 pre-orders online or in stores, and now other major retailers have said their launch allocations of next-gen consoles have run dry.

"After a crazy and exciting month, we've sold through our initial allocations of PS4 and Xbox One," Amazon said on Facebook.

"We have the Standard Editions for both consoles still available, but we can't guarantee these at release. Please check back here as we'll update you first if we receive further release day allocations."

Meanwhile, US retailer Best Buy has stopped taking Xbox One pre-orders.

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One will be available in 21 markets this November. The Xbox One price has been set at £425 / €499 / $499.

Sony showed off the PS4 hardware for the first time during its E3 conference, when it confirmed a Christmas PS4 release date in Europe and the US and a PS4 price of £349 / €399 / $399.

I doubt it, Xbox One isn't nearly as popular.


So? If it sold out on Amazon I guarantee it will at Gamestop.

I haven't gotten around to pre ordering mine yet. I'm gonna be mad if I don't get mine the day it comes out.

I don't see why this is a big deal. You don't have to get it on the first day. It's not like they're going to run out forever.

Vancouver_Canucks I really need to place my pre-order lol.

The only bad thing is, here in the UK there are only one or two Console bundles avaliable but include the less popular games.


You should do it soon the X1 and PS4 are running out of stock at a few places. I didn't think that many consoles would be pre-ordered.
