Amazon sells out of PS4, Xbox One launch day stock

Amazon and Best Buy are the latest retailers to tell consumers they've run out of their initial PS4 and/or Xbox One allocations.

Earlier this week, GameStop said it's currently not accepting any more PS4 pre-orders online or in stores, and now other major retailers have said their launch allocations of next-gen consoles have run dry.

"After a crazy and exciting month, we've sold through our initial allocations of PS4 and Xbox One," Amazon said on Facebook.

"We have the Standard Editions for both consoles still available, but we can't guarantee these at release. Please check back here as we'll update you first if we receive further release day allocations."

Meanwhile, US retailer Best Buy has stopped taking Xbox One pre-orders.

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One will be available in 21 markets this November. The Xbox One price has been set at £425 / €499 / $499.

Sony showed off the PS4 hardware for the first time during its E3 conference, when it confirmed a Christmas PS4 release date in Europe and the US and a PS4 price of £349 / €399 / $399.

Both Gamestop and Amazon have both sold out of PS4's...out of luck

What does this have to do with the xbox one sales??? They are two different systems and people will get what they want, just because PS4 sold out fast doesn't mean the xbox one will.

The Xbox one sold out in my closest GameStop, the PS4 is still in stock for pre-order.
The stores get 2nd allocations and sometimes even 3rd allocations on consoles.

It's hard to tell this early.

They just ran out of the preorders that Microsoft originally gave them.

I'm sure they will get more though.

Im waiting a week after release to make my decision.


Hopefully i can still preorder a next generation console in Australia. I'm considering going out and trying to pre-order one tomorrow before they sell out here as well
