Nintendo to announce secret “brand-new types of games” for Wii U soon

4.8
Nintendo didn’t really have much in the way of surprises at E3, and that’s because, as Satoru Iwata says, they wanted to focus on the “video game fans that are eager for information on so-called traditional games” at the show. But they have more in store for this year than just the stuff they discussed at June’s Nintendo Direct, including “new types of games.”

n a meeting with investors recently, Iwata discussed these secret games and explained why they haven’t talked about them yet. “When it comes to brand-new types of games, we have to announce them not too far in advance of the actual release dates in order to have a strong impact in the market and minimize the chance of others introducing similar or competing products. We are working on new types of games, but we would like to announce them much closer to their actual release timings for this reason.

“When it comes to Wii, as ‘Wii Sports’ spread throughout the world at a sensational speed, some misunderstood that all Wii could do is enable them to play games by moving the Wii Remote. With Wii U, therefore, we planned to satisfy existing video game fans first and provide new surprises later.”

Iwata makes it clear that some of these games he’s talking about will be released within the next year or so. But what could they be? Hmmmmmmm.

Meanwhile, in the same talk with investors, Iwata discussed the absence of the vitality sensor.

N7Ryno Nobody wants "secret brand new" ****. If you have a nintendo console, you want your nostalgia button pressed over and over and over. Nintendo needs to listen to their fans and just do remakes of games that people love. I've been hearing people want a Majoras Mask remake on 3DS for a while. I've been hearing TONS of people want an RPG Pokemon game on platform for at least 5 years now. Listen to your **** fans Nintendo and stop trying to tell us what we want. If you're nintendo, or you're with nintendo, you can't be expecting new to work. This is nintendos market, they didn't choose this, it chose them.

I would personally like a few more new games brought out for the WiiU. If Nintendo made too much remakes then they will get repetitive and boring.

just like call of duty

Exactly, Consoles need to switch up the type of games that they release. If there was 10 remakes of Zelda the Windwaker i wouldn't be buying the 11th

oSkill Wont even help WiiU out, it was a gonner from the start.

The main reason that the WiiU isn't selling very well is the lack of games. I think that if a wide range of good games are released for the WiiU it will still have a chance in the console market.

It could help it out. If they are interesting and truly something new, they will get talked about a lot. If that happens more people will want to get them and try them out which will help the Wii U out.

imgur I can't see this reviving the WiiU though, so many places are dropping it.

It probably won't revive the Wii U to it's fullest, but it may get it back up there and slightly increase console sales.
