Ubisoft hacked, account info accessed

4.6
An unnamed Ubisoft website has been hacked, and usernames, email addresses and password information has been compromised. Ubisoft claims that no finanical information was obtained but in an "abundance of caution" wants folks to change their passwords.

While Ubisoft's Uplay service is never mentioned specifically, as the only system housing customer data, it's a safe bet Uplay was used to access this information. Last year, a browser exploit was identified with the Uplay plug-in that endangered users by allowing certain malicious websites access to player computers.

Ubisoft introduced Uplay back in 2009 as a cross-game interface allowing for digital distribution and social services across Ubisoft games. In February, Ubisoft added third-party games from studios including EA, Warner Bros. and Focus Home Interactive.

Starify I just hope Microsoft is not next. I'm pretty sure they have some good security, but anything can happen.

It's unlikely that this will happen to Microsoft in my opinion. Then again, there is a first time for everything

Even the strong will fall eventually. Microsoft may have a lot of security but there is always a possibility something can happen. Someone who knows what they're doing may be able to hack Microsoft.

True. Everyone though the same about Sony and the Play Station Network and look what happened a few years back, We where all surprised from that security breech. Hopefully Microsoft doesn't get hacked though

Sony was not the Online leader in security like Microsoft, who has the richest man in the world as it's owner, and they were slightly outdated.
I feel 100% confident that my details are safe on my Xbox. Paypal and Microsoft are the only 2 online services I trust with my Credit Card info, and I assume Amazon but I do not save it there (although it's still served it the DB so it does not matter!)

microsoft is by far not the leader in digital/system/physical security.... hell the 360 and OG xbox where exploited long before the sony counter parts let alone the issues plagued within Windows and Hotmail and MSDN.

RaheemSterling_31 That's why I don't put my bank account details on these these things.

Me too, I don't trust giving my bank details anywhere on line. So many companies get hacked!

I would rather go out and buy Microsoft Points from a Gamestop..

(I highly doubt Microsoft will get hacked though)
