Xbox One adapter for Xbox 360 headsets inbound

Microsoft is working on an adapter allowing you to use Xbox 360 wired headsets with the Xbox One.

The news comes via the Xbox Support Twitter account, responding to a question about whether existing headsets will work with the new console.

“We are working to develop an adapter for current wired headsets to connect. More details as we approach launch,” a representative said.

The Xbox One will not come bundled with a headset, because the Kinect, which is included in every package and required for the console to function, will perform basic voice chat duties. There is an official headset, though.

Both Mad Catz and Turtle Beach have said they’ll be developing peripherals for the new console as well.

Yet another example of microsoft backtracking because of all the negative feedback of another part of its new console. They are showing that they are just another massive corporation looking to make as much money as possible by forcing everyone to buy their new headsets, but caving in to public discontent.
If they'd of planned to make these adaptors from the start they would've had them ready by now, and wouldn't of been saying "the old ones would not be compatible".
Microsoft is not doing their public image any good with this launch, not that they care. Having said that, I will still be getting one hopefully at launch, if for no other reason than my friends are getting them, and they do seem to have stronger exclusive deals...

This is great news. There is no need to complain now. Don't be silly and say "why didn't they just let us use our headsets in the controller itself?" because they already said the new port/headsets are much better with sound.
