PlayStation Network maintenance this Tuesday

4.6
PlayStation Network maintenance has been scheduled for this Tuesday June 25.

Sony says the "routine" maintenance will run from approximately 5.30pm BST / 6.30pm CET until around midnight BST / 1.00am CET.

The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Users may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access PSN, but will be able to access online play and apps provided they've signed in prior to the beginning of the maintenance period.

Last week, Sony released and subsequently pulled PS3 firmware update 4.45 after it was found to be causing errors in what the platform holder termed a "small number" of consoles.

It later said: "A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologise for the inconvenience."

Firmware update 4.45 was designed to allow users to switch trophy notifications off via the System Settings menu and improve general performance.

Sony has applied for certification of two new PS3 models, suggesting revised versions of its current-gen console are in the works.

The company recently said it has no current plans to introduce a PS3 price cut, despite the fact that PS4 will be available this Christmas.

Item How far behind are you pal? You can play Xbox One offline now.

Oasis Maybe he should do his research before calling people uneducated. Seems all his comments are aimed at flaming or causing trouble.

Did neither of you read what I wrote? I was writing about cloud processing being a potential requirement to run games properly, just as you needed the internet to play Sim City for example, I never once mentioned the always online requirement because I know that it's been removed from the console, but they can still indirectly apply it by giving the developers the ability to use it to improve their games, without it your games may not run. So not only are you all uneducated, you also can't read, congratulations.

Everybody understood what you wrote, except you it seems. Listen, the fact that it's taken you multiple posts to explain yourself is a big statement, if you're going to comment on something then you have to be prepared to listen to others.

Also I can only talk for myself but if you continue to harass members on here via comments or posts or even pm (yes I saw your message), then believe me you won't last long.

Also, as a specific reply to this comment, I even said in my comment "You may not be able to play SOME games offline still." implying that I was aware of the always online requirement removal, if a game uses their cloud processing system then it will be come potentially unplayable if you're not connected to Xbox Live, just as you can't play Sim City without an internet connection because the data is stored in the 'cloud' (EA's servers), if this happens with the Xbox One then they're not lying to you, because they can blame it on the developer for designing the game this way, the console has already been designed to be used with always online requirements, therefore it could be launched for any game at any time, no matter what gamers have to say about it.

That's fine with me. I have a decent internet connection so...Also you can play SimCity offline. Maybe not legally but you can.

Are you stupid? Games that are multiplayer only are on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Not just the Xbox One which you are making it sound like.

Did I ever say that? I'm saying that many games, even single player, could become unusable if they are powered by or use 'cloud processing' in any way.
