Sony's policy on Media Content "You buy it, you own it."

4.5
When Sony announced the PS4 in Febuary, people thought they were very reluctant to give any details about the product. Many thought Sony were going to be changing a lot, but they are not. They have changed a bit, but in a good way for the community. Andrew House stated that if you bought the game, you should have the freedom to do what you want with it.

They have basically stated that there are not going to be any restrictions what so ever when it comes to your games, and what you do with them.

Frog Ah, that is much better than Microsofts policy on this issue :D This will be a major factor to whether I buy a PS4 or an Xbox One.

Yeah, i agree

I find it funny that people still think that people still consider the Xbox Ban tweet to be legit. It was confirmed to be only for the 360 and not the Xbox one. They have no policy on the issue at the moment so your comment is invalid for the meantime.

We already knew this, you can trade games and what not? People say you cannot trade in Xbox One games yet they have said you can at authorized places. Lets be honest here most people download a demo, if they like it they buy the game new. If I ever buy a second hand game its because I don't find the game amazing, but I'd play it now and then. I think this new policy Microsoft introduces will allow people to be more wary of their money, and will really show which games are best. Also, demos will actually play a big role in gaming now, unlike before.

The PS4 is definitely the console I will be getting. No restrictions on games sounds great!

Yeah and Xbox One is better...phaa

The PS4 is just digging an even deeper whole to bury the Xbox One in

Does this mean we're allowed to mod games without penalty? :D

Grizzle Modding? :P

All this means is that people and buy and sell their games that they buy, in no way does it mean that because you bought it you can violate the TOS. It means you can do all legal things with it.

it does mean you can mod really because it says freedom to do what you want with it if modding wasnt aloud it wouldnt say that

No, by modding you are still violating the end user licensing agreement, which you agree to by playing the game, and which is controlled by the games makers. Not playstation.

Its good of sony they arn't restricting any ability of second hand games though, second hand games are so much cheaper for people and its a good way to make some money for a new game by selling your old ones

Thank god for people like, setting people straight. :)
