Call of Duty: Ghosts won’t make use of always-online option

4.6
Infinity Ward has said the ability to use the always online option on next-gen consoles isn’t something the firm has explored just yet.

Speaking with Eurogamer during a Call of Duty: Ghosts demo, producer Mark Rubin said while it is something the firm may look into in the future, the team is focused on fun first, and not tech.

“It’s not really something we would explore just yet,” he said. “I’ll be the first to admit, we’re not the tech chasers. We’ve never been the most hi-tech, super graphics check-box list guys. We try to make fun first. Then if tech helps make fun better then great. If not then we don’t really need it.

“There’s interesting stuff out there. I’m totally engaged as a developer in what we could possibly do. But we’re going to take it safe and make sure it’s actually benefiting the game first before we just go check that box.”

For now, though, it’s not in the card for Ghosts – but a Wii U version is: a version Rubin said to “stay tuned” on.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is out in November and will release on PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

slapshot101 That's good they aren't going to use the always online option, but since when did they announce they are going to make a Wii U version of Ghosts?

Well they made Black Ops 2 for the Wii Lol

Lucky_Otter They may as well go with the online always. It's not like anyone who buy's this game who doesn't play the multiplayer.

No they shouldn't make it always online, yes people play multiplayer on COD, but if people's internet goes out and they want to play campaign offline, then they can't because of it always being online. I'm glad they're not making it always online and I'm sure a bunch of other people are.

I have never played the CoD campaign and most people haven't either. Look at their achievements and you will see. No one cares about CoD's campaign. Simple fact. If you buy CoD for the story then I feel sorry for you.

Actually if you buy the new CoD's at all I feel sorry for you.

I think they are adding COD on all Wii systems now. I didn't even know there was a BO2 on Wii U until I just searched for it.

I Hope Its More Like MW2 But With Even Better Graphics.

Sorcery Infinity Ward taking their first steps to becoming good people, this brings a tear to my eye!

Because Robert Bowling isn't there to mess things up like he did. He wanted MW3 to be how he wanted it and that's all. Now that he isn't there, they can focus on the game more without having to worry about Robert Bowling complaining about something he doesn't like.

Woops my bad..

But yeah, Robert Bowling quit at infinity ward because the company don't want to change call of duty, he wanted to make the franchise different, break the mould.

Exactly, if there was something he didn't like, he would have it nerfed or changed around. I'm glad he left, he trolled the community hardcore and then ruined a game that might have been decent.

If COD: Ghosts releases more gameplay and in-depth info on it that seems different or impressive, then I may get it but that's a small chance. I'm not into COD anymore.
