Xbox One cloud provides CPU and storage capacity of three consoles

4.7
Xbox One's cloud will feature three times the CPU and storage capacity of the core console, a Microsoft spokesperson has said.

According to Jeff Henshaw, Microsoft group program manager of Xbox Incubation and Prototyping, the Xbox One cloud will be just as crucial to developers as the hardware inside the console.
"[for every Xbox One] we're provisioning the CPU and storage equivalent of three Xbox Ones on the cloud," Henshaw told OXM.

"We're doing that flat out so that any game developer can assume that there's roughly three times the resources immediately available to their game, so they can build bigger, persistent levels that are more inclusive for players. They can do that out of the game."

The Xbox One's Xbox Live service will be "powered by 300,000 servers" according to Microsoft's Marc Whitten.

Microsoft revealed its new Xbox at a live event on Tuesday.

Obviously a good idea because we need to install each game before we play it and each game would be around 6-7 gb

That is good, I thought there wouldn't be much cloud storage capacity.

helld2bnet i hate how there is a mandatory download for every game you want to play, its gonna take me ages just to get to paly one game.

Well I can tell you are not well informed. They already announced that you would be able to play the game while installing it. So even if your are downloading through your internet it won't be a problem. Most likely you will be installing from a disk which takes a very short amount of time. I already install the games I play most just so I get faster loading times. Right now I can have about five games installed if I don't delete any of my DLC (I have the 250 hardrive).

I already have many more than 5 games installed on a 120G HDD plus all of my DLC (A lot). That shouldn't be an issue. And how do you plan on playing a game downloading from the internet without it finishing? I could understand that possibly working for disks, but not GoD. I'm also curious to find what they'll be doing with current GoD for 360. @XboxSupport on twitter won't tell me. lmao

Its going to download the game in order of what you would access fisrt-last. Probably you have to wait 5minutes at first to start it then you could play it as it downloaded.

This is just lies and marketing, nothing more, other than storage which is already proven.

Might just buy a pc.

That means slow internet connection

slapshot101Posted:

The problem with this is that with people with slow internet connections accessing all that data on the cloud will take forever.

Sounds promising, I wonder if that means (we) can access the 1.5tb ish from our console.

Also people need to know what their talking about before commenting.
