Xbox One will require an internet connection 'once every day'

4.4
While there are no sweeping mandatory always-online requirement for Xbox One games, new official Microsoft comments suggest the console will need an internet connection regularly.
When asked by Kotaku how regularly the Xbox One will require an internet connection when playing a single player game, Harrison responded: "I believe it's 24 hours."

When questioned whether the user will need to connect online once every day, Harrison responded: "correct".

Harrison's comments elaborate on information on the official Xbox news site. According to that site, "[Xbox One] does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet.

"We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection."

SweetTealsGood I don't know why so many people are upset about always on? If you are on TTG complaining about it, you have internet. Right? So why does it matter if you need internet?

Internet goes down. People don't play xbox everyday. People go on vacations. People have jobs. Power goes out. You can no longer afford internet but want to play single player on your 400 dollar console you just bought. There are so many reasons why it matters, this is driving the community insane. Clearly microsoft doesn't care. Nearly everyone has been screaming against this always online concept/internet connection required concept because it's just stupidity.
Exactly. I have no idea why Microsoft would do this. Their are times when i stay at my friends house for the night and i bring my xbox. He just happens to not have any internet so i cant find any way around this. I would threaten to switch like a lot of people but in the end i wont and neither would they.

This is beyond stupid. They better change this stuff, its driving their sales down already, how do they not understand? There is so much negative feed back.
