Xbox One will require an internet connection 'once every day'

4.4
While there are no sweeping mandatory always-online requirement for Xbox One games, new official Microsoft comments suggest the console will need an internet connection regularly.
When asked by Kotaku how regularly the Xbox One will require an internet connection when playing a single player game, Harrison responded: "I believe it's 24 hours."

When questioned whether the user will need to connect online once every day, Harrison responded: "correct".

Harrison's comments elaborate on information on the official Xbox news site. According to that site, "[Xbox One] does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet.

"We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection."

What if you're banned? does the Xbox refuse to play? or does it ignore your ban and phone home anyway?

Microsoft are trying to focus on gaiming and entertainment, while sony is just straight focusing on gaming.

Good thing I'm getting a ps4. I will say both consoles are badass though

Soooo uhm??? What if someone is too poor to afford internet and was gifted an xbox one or something and cant play any games because they require an internet connection? I understand the whole point of it but really?! I think this is bullshit in all honesty (of course I have internet and wouldn't have this problem, I'm just stating a likely scenario).

Take it down kiddos. The end of Xbox is this winter. Disappointed.

This is absolutely awful! So if I ever want to take my Xbox to Wales (I go to stay in a static caravan that doesn't have internet) for a few weeks, then I won't be able to play video games? This is pathetic!
