Xbox One isn't always online, but requires internet connection

4.5
It has been confirmed that the Xbox One will not be always online, but require internet connection. One of the reasons why this has been implemented, is because all games must be installed now. Microsoft also uses the Cloud Storage device to store movies, music, shows, etc.

MPAA For not supporting the previous generation, Sony's PS4 has already won.

Ballmer is now attempting to kill the Xbox brand. Great.

Guess I'll be buying a PS4 this time.

PS4 can also not play previous gen games due to a different GPU

Doesn't stop them from stating that they will emulate them in software after it's been released. I'm surprised MS hasn't but it's too early to tell.

I don't really know what's so bad about it.
I really have no problem with it, not like I have
anything else to do, ha.

I know right? That wastes too much space when you can just run it off of a disk

yea they will do it like the ps3 release.... a ps4 way over priced that can run ps3 games, then release another ps4 than can't and make it not so much... that's sony for you haha.

I really don't mind. MS are going down suicide avenue with all this TV crap, they should focus on just making a machine that plays games and force anyone else to download an 'app' to watch TV or films, something which I don't care for.

I don't quite understand what this means. So it connects to the Internet but not really, so you just have to have a cord connected to it.

Rojo Its good that they made the decision to not require "Always online", also installing games hopefully means you won't need the disc any more after the installation, they would be great. :)

It most likely means that you would have to install, not the game, but a sort of a "online certificate of authentication", proving you did not illegally obtain the game. At least, I hope it's not that way.
