Black Ops 6 Has Already Has A $350 Skin

4.2
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn't even out, nor has it had its full beta, but the upcoming first-person shooter already has a limited-edition weapon camo for purchase.

The cost? $350, plus shipping and applicable taxes, along with another $8.75 to protect your package. That last part is optional, though if you're already dishing out $350-plus dollars, then you might as well cover your purchase.

In order to obtain the exclusive Call of Duty Gold Lightning Weapon Camo for use in Black Ops 6, you must preorder and purchase the Wunderwaffe DG-2 1/2 Scale Replica Statue, a $350 replica exclusive to the official Call of Duty store.

According to the listing, the Wunderwaffe DG-2 1/2 Scale Replica Statue is a 1/2 scale model, complete with "highly detailed parts" that have been "textured for (a) realistic metal and wood appearance." It comes with a stand, and is officially licensed. And in case you were wondering, no, it does not turn on.

That said, those who preorder the collectible will get the limited-edition skin. That code will be provided inside the product packaging, per the listing, meaning it's highly unlikely anyone will be able to redeem the camo and then return the collectible. Oh, and it won't ship until November, a month after the game launches.

Black Ops 6 Won't Have "Carry Forward," But It Has This
On its own, a $350 skin in a Call of Duty game is pretty noteworthy. However, it's even more noteworthy given that Activision had previously come forward to announce that "Carry Forward" wouldn't be a thing in Black Ops 6.

For the uninitiated, "Carry Forward" allowed players to bring their unlocked and purchased operators, cosmetics and more from Modern Warfare 2 into Modern Warfare 3. Citing a desire to "make sure that everybody starts fresh, together," Activision revealed that "Carry Forward" would not be present in its core multiplayer mode, though cosmetics will be useable in Warzone.

In other words, those purchased bundles, of which there are dozens, are essentially no use in Black Ops 6, unless you happen to play Warzone. Yet, in the time since that announcement, an exclusive preorder Frank Woods skin that is available in Modern Warfare 3 will transfer over. And now, a $350 skin has already been announced.

"Allowing everyone to experience the Black Ops universe the way it’s meant to be played, learning the era-specific weapons and gear" was part of Activision's statement in June. We'd wager that the gold lightning skin isn't era-specific, but alas. That is the way things go.

I love that things come with "shipping protection" as if the shipping being protected isn't solely the duty already by the shipping company themselves but is rather being charged extra for lol.
