Like many shooters, Apex Legends has been plagued by cheaters since day one. Although the developers have introduced several anti-cheat updates over time, none were as effective as the company hoped for.
Despite the company's best efforts, the community grew restless. So, last month, Respawn Entertainment finally admitted they had a major issue.
Apex Legends Game Director Steven Ferreira had this to say in an interview with IGN:

With the introduction of the Easy Anti-Cheat system, the developers are finally making strides toward that goal.
According to the official EA statement, their anti-cheat team now operates worldwide, offering around-the-clock support. The company emphasizes the Asia-Pacific region, where the biggest percentage of cheaters originate.
The system is dependent on kernel technology while offering several layers of protection to users.
Like most other gaming organizations, Electronic Arts bans players in waves and takes individual action against the worst transgressors.
The new technology should be more accurate and faster in reacting to cheating incidents. Respawn Entertainment also relies on players to report any bugs or misuse they might've spotted while enjoying the title.
The company has promised the players to keep them in the loop regarding upcoming updates. Hopefully, the EAC will finally move the needle for this beloved game while also keeping our blood pressure in check.
