GOG just revealed this alongside the release of the game's first update, which aims to address some of the complaints that players have made since launch. In particular, players should hopefully encounter fewer crashes and performance issues.
GOG comments on the staggering success of Fallout: London in a blog post.
"The initial release of Fallout: London quickly turned out to be an incredible success – and a prime example of how work of passion and creativity can bring in a plethora of new, exciting ways to enjoy a game," says GOG. " In the first 24 hours, the mod was redeemed more than 500,000 times, making it the fastest redeemed game on GOG ever.
"Combined with an overwhelming support from the gaming community We can only congratulate Team FOLON on their grand launch and hitting such a groundbreaking record."
GOG also commends Team FOLON for offering troubleshooting to those who were struggling to get Fallout: London running on their systems. It says that many of the issues experienced at launch stemmed from the difficulty around downgrading Fallout 4, since Fallout: London is incompatible with the next-gen update. GOG, however, lets users roll back to previous patches without the need for third-party software.
If you can get the downgrader to work though, you should be able to play Fallout: London via Steam just fine. You'll have to nab it from GOG, but after that, it should work with your Steam copy of Fallout 4 just fine.
